Rogue Lacquer – Petal Toppers Collection | Swatches & Review

Hiya guys! Starting this off with the biggest universal oof. It looks like I almost lost myself again and missed a few days of posting. While it’s not the end of the world and I shouldn’t beat myself up about it, I’m extremely overdue with this post. I feel absolutely terrible about it, but the more I beat myself up about it then the longer it’ll take me to post. I have quite a few life updates and I will hopefully be coming out with a post this week to catch everyone up on life. But I am already late so let’s not babble too much and let’s talk pretty nail polish. Today I’m sharing swatches for the Petal Toppers Collection by Rogue Lacquer, which consists of five beautiful metallic flakie toppers. This was released a few weeks ago along side the Fantasy Sprinkles Collection and it consists of five crelly finishes. Now let’s go ahead and jump to the swatches as I have made you wait long enough for them.

The Petal Toppers Collection by Rogue Lacquer is now available for purchase. Each 13mL bottle retails for $9 or you can purchase the entire collection of five plus one additional topper for $52. There is also the option of purchasing both the Petal Topper and the Fantasy Sprinkles collections for $100.

Rogue Lacquer - Morning Cosmos

Morning Cosmos can be described as a pinky rose metallic flake topper. If you’re a fan of rose gold like I am then this is going to be right up your alley. When I say I’m a fan of the color I mean because it literally matches all my jewelry and accessories perfectly. I went on that rose gold train hard and haven’t stopped if I’m being honest, haha. So right off the bat I was excited to see how this one would look on me and  I am not one bit disappointed. Now that being said, this one wasn’t my favorite over white base at least. I feel like a darker tone base would have bought out more of that beautiful rose gold color.

Rogue Lacquer – Sunshine, Daisies, and Buttermellow

Rogue Lacquer - Sunshine, Daisies, and Buttermellow
Sunshine, Daisies, and Buttermellow can be described as a crushed gold metallic flake topper. Inspired by golden flowers. This was probably the one I was least excited about, but only because I own quite a few gold flake toppers. It’s probably the most common one in the bunch, but that doesn’t make it any less gorgeous. And of course if your collection is missing something like this then take this as your chance to score. Seriously it’s a gorgeous tone of gold that really looks great against any base color. I was actually surprised how much I liked it over white since I originally thought it would dull it down. So if you don’t own anything like it in your collection, then I would definitely give this one a major need stamp of approval.

Rogue Lacquer – Delphinium Out of Water

Rogue Lacquer - Delphinium Out of Water

Delphinium Out of Water can be described as a beautiful blue metallic topper. Like watching dolphins play in the big blue ocean. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, but this one ended up being my favorite from the collection. The shine that radiates off these blue flakes is completely out of this world gorgeous. I don’t have enough words to describe how much I love this one and it goes without saying it’s a definite must have. You guys will be seeing a lot more of this one in the future as I know I’ll take it out as often as possible.

Rogue Lacquer – 1000 Fringed Daises

Rogue Lacquer - 1000 Fringed Daises
1000 Fringed Daises can be described as a turquoise metallic flake topper inspired by a lovely shade of fringed daisy. Although the official description has the color as turquoise I don’t feel like it quite fits the tone of the flakes. Maybe more of a teal green or just more green leaning in general. But anyhow the color is really vibrant and pretty, much more than I expected it to be. I’m not usually a fan of green in general, but this one just screamed summer vibes to me. Though like the first polish, I can’t help but feel it would be better suited over a different base than what I chose.

Rogue Lacquer – Pansy For Your Thoughts?

Rogue Lacquer - Pansy For Your Thoughts?

Pansy For Your Thoughts? can be described as a lovely purple metallic flake topper. And we are closing off this post with my second favorite collection and another pick for must-have. I was so surprised but how much I ended up loving this one as again purple tends to not be one my favorites to wear. But it just looks so lovely and pretty even over the white base, which again surprised me. I think the deep tone of the purple really gives it an eye-catching vibe that I don’t think would have worked as well if the color was lighter or darker. That dark leaning purple does mean this topper probably won’t work as well with a black base. Instead I feel like this one will really come to life with something bright or pastel underneath it.

Rogue Lacquer - Pansy For Your Thoughts?

Isn’t this such a fun and pretty collection?! I haven’t experienced a topper collection in such a long time and I had such a level of excitement from the second I opened the package. I feel like toppers are always such an underrated nail polish finish and don’t get nearly enough love. Especially considering how versatile they can be. Even these plain swatches over a white base and look totally different if I did a matte topcoat. And I am totally kicking myself for not doing it, haha. That hindsight tho. But yeah I’m sure that these are going to look fantastic over some gradients or nail art as well. I for one cannot wait to have some time to play with them and see what I can come up with! Be sure to check out Rogue Lacquer, I am leaving all the links for their social media down below. Let me know your thoughts down in the comments below. Until next time, stay safe and well xoxo Moonbaes.
