Spring is almost here my friends, I promise!
And as annoying as the fashion industry can be, the one thing I am always grateful for, is that Spring fashion hits earlier than Spring weather does, which is about now. Yay!
Now as an everyday stylist, I’m not dictated to by trends, but I do seem them coming, and they are often reflected in the stores I shop in with clients. Adding a little nod to a trend is also a great way to update your look, and feel more current.
As always, a reminder though – only wear what you love to wear – that may be a trend, or not. Don’t feel you have to buy into a trend, but also respect that others may. That’s the beauty of personal style – it’s personal.
So with that in mind, here is a quick rundown of some of the trends I’m seeing come through for Spring, and a little note on how you can work them into your everyday style,
I will also be breaking down each trend a little more, with current examples, in blogs to come – so this is just the summary, a separate blog will follow on each trend too.
Yes jeans are always on trend, but this Spring we’re seeing denim everything! Dresses, skirts, shirts, jumpsuits, jackets and more! The most on-trend colour looks like the light, slightly acid-wash hue, but any colour goes really.

How does it work into your everyday style? simple. it’s denim. It’s the ultimate in everyday style. Choose the shapes and styles that work for you.
This might be a polarising trend, but neon is definitely back in a big way. Although we’re seeing mostly shades of highlighter yellow and pink, there are oranges and greens around too.
How does it work into your everyday style? If you love the idea, but it feels like a LOT – start small with accessories like bags, shoes, belts or even your nails. Neon works great back with denim (see above) and neutral tones like black and white.
I’m am SO here for this trend (and have been for a while) but co-ords have finally hit the mainstream! A co-ord is basically a matching set (see this blog here). It can be a top and skirt, jacket and shorts, or anything in between. It can look a little pyjama-ish, but that is a look I am also here for haha
How does it work into your everyday style? This is one of the great ways to get more bang for buck. A co-ord can look like a dress or jumpsuit, but then splits into two pieces. If too much print and colour can overwhelm you, start with a simple black, or navy option, there are SO many co-ord sets around this Spring, you will definitely find something you like.
This is basically the look you’re seeing all over Instagram and TikTok atm. Simple elegance is the name of the game here. Quiet luxury is the antithesis of fast fashion, with a focus on thoughtful shopping and wearing true investment pieces. A juxtaposition to the logomania that was trending over the past few years, it’s a more minimalist approach to dressing.
How does it work into your everyday style? If classic is your style, then, ironically this trend is right up your alley. You can translate it easily into your everyday style by simply upping your smart-casual look. Switch out your jeans for a pair of tailored trousers, or your tee for a button up shirt – all in a beige neutral tone of course.
This is probably a sub-trend of the Quiet Luxury look, but I think it deserves it’s own heading. Satin-looking fabric is back in a big way, we’re seeing it come through mostly in bias cut midi skirts, camis and slip dresses.
How does it work into your everyday style? The best thing about this trend, is most of the pieces you’ll see in high street stores will actually be a polyester blend, which means all the look and feel of satin, but it will be much hardier, and machine washable, so much more realistic for everyday life.
I am here for this trend almost as much as a co-ord! It’s a great one for expressing your personal style, if bold and colourful are your vibe. It’s a fantastic mix of feminine and masculine, and can be adapted to suit your colour palette and lifestyle easily.
How does it work into your everyday style? A simple white tee and trainer will bring this look down to earth, and once again, like the co-ord, you can mix and match your pieces – the blazer with jeans, or the pants with a simple tee.
So those are my six big style trends of Spring 2023 to keep an eye on, I’m going to have a play with all of them (of course) and I’d love to know which ones float your boat too.
